Sally Schneiders, Founder, Member Emeritus

A Winnetka native with a B.A. in German and Portuguese, from the University of Colorado and the mother of five.  Sally's inspiration and hard work created Do Your P'Art and kept it going and growing through the years.  Sally also designs and makes her own jewelry and enjoys playing hockey and being part of a larger team.

Cindy Chippindale, President

Cindy is originally from Canada, where she grew up in a very multicultural society. She is a strong believer of the positive impact that a diverse society provides.  In addition to her role as President of DYP, Cindy enjoys her career in Engineering Product Development and playing ice hockey.

Emily Abbott Emily is a native of upstate New York who moved to Chicago

Emily Abbott, Board Member, Benefit Director

Emily is a native of upstate New York who moved to Chicago after graduating from the University of Vermont with a degree in Environmental Studies. She currently works in the field of event marketing and enjoys playing ice hockey.

Joanna Angelopoulos, Board Member, Teacher

Joanna has been an art teacher in Palatie for the past 12 years.  She has a BA in art history, BFA in drawing and teaching certificate from U of IOWA.  She continued her studies in 2000, receiving her MA in painting while studying abroad in Venice, Italy.  In 2008 she traveled to Japan and recently with a Distinguished Fulbright Award, traveled to Argentina to research their educational system.  Joanna is a great supporter of the Do Your P'Art mission.

Julia Rice, Educational Program Director

Julia Rice is an educatior, art therapist, counselor and artist with a Master's of Art specializing in Art Therapy.  Originally from North Carolina, she comes from a family of teachers and leaders.

Maia Wheeler, Board Member

Maia Wheeler has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, a minor in studio art, and a Master of Arts in Art Therapy Graduate degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as proud alumni of New Trier High School.  She currently is working at Easter Seals Therapeutic School and Center for Autism Research in Chicago addressing the emotional, physical and cognitive needs of students diagnosed with autism. Maia has been involved as a participant of Do Your P’Art for four years and believes the mission of the organization to be “a necessity component to any dynamic young-persons educational, and personal, experience.”
